Do you remember that Grand Designs episode where the woodsman built his own house using the materials he gathered from his local woods? Well, he now designs and builds traditional A frame buildings for private clients. I had the pleasure of working with him on a house in Henfield, just outside Brighton.
Amongst other work I carried out for him was a solid oak staircase. I was asked to design something that complimented the traditional building techniques used in the rest of the property. It was quite tricky fitting a staircase, handrails and spindles into a building full of curves and angles but we managed to make a good job of it in the end.
