Brighton Carpenter

Blue Sky Brighton Carpenter normally works around Brighton and Hove but this customer contacted Blue Sky Brighton Carpenter from London. Blue Sky Brighton Carpenter likes to work with solid timber and American black walnut is one of my favourites. I designed a simple lacquered walnut bookcase which fitted the clients specific books and ornaments. The unit was fully fitted to the wall and scribed over the skirting board for a neat finish.

Brighton Carpenter Fitted Wardrobes

I made and fitted these units for a property in the centre of Brighton. Being a traditional Brighton regency property the wardrobes had to compliment the period features in the rooms. Inside the larger unit is a high shelf and double hanging. The other unit has plenty of fully adjustable shelving for shoes and jumpers.

Do you remember that Grand Designs episode where the woodsman built his own house using the materials he gathered from his local woods? Well, he now designs and builds traditional A frame buildings for private clients. I had the pleasure of working with him on a house in Henfield, just outside Brighton.

Amongst other work I carried out for him was a solid oak staircase. I was asked to design something that complimented the traditional building techniques used in the rest of the property. It was quite tricky fitting a staircase, handrails and spindles into a building full of curves and angles but we managed to make a good job of it in the end.

Brighton Carpenter

Blue Sky Brighton Carpenters normally work around Brighton and Hove but this customer contacted Blue Sky Brighton Carpenters from Twickingham in London. The client wanted a chunky looking coffee table in walnut. I came up with this design. It was quite tricky to glue up as you can see. Nice job though.

Blue Sky Brighton Carpenters

Blue Sky Brighton Carpenters normally work around Brighton and Hove but this customer contacted Blue Sky Brighton Carpenters from Hampton Court in London. The client wanted a chunky looking storage unit for her CD's and DVD's. She wanted a solid oak unit which wasn't fussy or decorative. I designed a unit which looked like a solid chunk of wood with no handles or knobs. There are in fact nine drawers which open on 'touch to open' drawer runners. The only detail on the unit is where I routed the lines of the drawers so they wrapped around the top and sides of he unit.

Oak Bar

Blue Sky Brighton Carpenters work around Brighton and Hove. This curved oak bar was for a Brighton tennis club. The club were carrying out a complete re-furb of their bar and they called Blue Sky Brighton Carpenters to manufacture and fit a solid oak bar. The bar I ripped out wasn't curved but I thought that a curve would fit better in the room. This meant a bit more work but the client was delighted with the end result! The back bar section has bi-fold doors which can be locked when the bar is closed.
